This is stolen from the Winchester Public Library (and who knows where it originated), but I really like it. This summer they sponsored “Bon Appetit!”, a book-tasting journey. The point of the game is to fill out a menu of books (with reviews). I love the idea because it gave me a reason to pick up poetry and short stories, something I rarely do. I thought it was so great, and if you have the time and inclination, I would suggest trying it out.

The following courses are needed:

• Appitizer – A collection of short stories

• Entree – A “meaty” book

• Salad – Either poetry or humor

• Dessert – A book for “your guilty reading pleasure”

The game is in honor of Julia Childs (1912-2004).
